Katazome-shi
Katazome-shi are stencil-dyed papers based on traditional fabric printing techniques. They are bold, elegantly patterned papers . Developed in Kyoto during the 20th century, persimmon-dyed kozo was traditionally used as the stencil material. The pigments absorb deeply into the paper to produce long lasting color. Katazome-shi papers have strength and ageless beauty and are perfect for bookcovers and boxes, cards, decorative elements on paper and wood, lampshades or as backgrounds for photographs.
