Techniques will include scraping, sponging, stamping, faux marbling and many other simple ways of creating backgrounds on papers. These papers can be used in book making, altered books, cards, and collage. Come with an open mind and be prepared to amaze yourself, (and have a lot of fun in the process)! I try to explain it this way: I start with an old, unloved book and transform it with paint, photos, and other embellishments. Gelatin Printing/A Book Cover and a Simple Binding – Margaret Couch Cogswell Saturday – April 24th: 10am-5pm <img src='http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0031/7852/files/gelatin_print_2.jpeg?1266348748' alt='' /> Gelatin printing is a simple and versatile mono-printing technique using a gelatin slab as a printing plate. The basic materials are affordable, non-toxic and clean up with water- perfect for beginners and professionals alike. We will spend most of the day creating prints and then move on to making a book utilizing one of your prints for a cover. Class Fee – $85.00 plus $25 materials fee Cloth Books – Margaret Couch Cogswell Sunday – April 25th: 10am-5pm Bring scraps of your favorite fabric or old clothing you just can’t part with and create a cloth book.
