Happy Holiday Greetings from all of us at Gallery Shibui.  We are busy in the store as would be expected this time of year, but we wanted to extend a message of both cheer and peace to our clients, friends and fellow citizens of the world.  2008 has been a roller coaster year for all of us--elections, bailouts and constant news of grim times to come.  Here at Gallery Shibui we believe there are exciting opportunities ahead.  In the coming year we will expand our workshop offerings, develop partnerships with kinship artists--papermakers, letterpress and environmental artists.  We will begin an online store for our wonderful papers, as well as some of the other unique and locally made items we carry.  Above all, we endeavor to be more connected to our community here in in Raleigh as well as to our global community.  We firmly believe that we can all make the world a better place, working together on the important issues affecting all of us. 

We have been amazed and delighted at the great response that we have had to our book and paper arts workshops.  There is something powerful in working together on our books, journals, boxes, and other collaborative projects..  With that in mind, we hope to continue to make Gallery Shibui a creative oasis and a place where beginners and established book and paper artists feel completely at home.
