Woodblock printS BY KUNIO KANEKO

We are very lucky to have obtained four new woodblock prints from Kunio Kaneko, a contemporary Japanese printmaker.  These were released in March of 2008. The top print "Swing Swing Swing," is a limited edition woodblock print printed on gold and silver leaf.  It is signed and titled in pencil by the artist .

The bottom print is entitled "Whisper Whisper 5.  As with the above print, it is from a limited edition of 150.  This print was featured at the 2007 CWAJ Annual Print show in Tokyo. 

Kunio Kaneko's woodblocks are pressed by a traditional Japanese Baren. They have strong colors and good bleed through. We have two other prints by Kunio Kaneko at the store.  They really must be seen in person to appreciate their charm and beauty.
