vintage SERIZAWA cALENDAR 1961
This calendar was printed in 1960 by Serizawa Keisuke who was a widely admired and acclaimed Katazome style printer.. He was the leading artist of "Mingei" (Japanese Folk Art) and was named a "Living National Treasure" in 1956. After World War II, Serizawa founded his own teaching studio and workshop and began designing and printing a yearly calendar using the beautiful hand stenciling techniques he had acquired. This calendar measures 11-1/2" x 14-1/2" and is in perfect condition. It is printed on mulberry paper and comes with the original handmade paper envelope. What a find!
